
Andrew is 16 and loves to fish for steelhead and salmon. In 2022, he drove with his family to Yellowknife from Vancouver and saw 52 black bears, 2 grizzlies, 7 caribou, 2 moose and hundreds of bison. Someday he hopes to travel north to Cambridge Bay and Gjoa Haven and to eventually catch an arctic char. Andrew started playing math games when he was 4 years old after he had broken his arm playing hockey. He has just finished honor’s competitive math 11 at St. George’s, and Honor’s physics at Johns Hopkins CTY.

Alex is 13 and just finished his first year at St. George’s school in Vancouver. He loves robotics and board games and has many close friends from the Kerrisdale MACC class. Animals love Alex – our dog, all cats, and horses all migrate to Alex who will advocate for them all vociferously. As math games begins to code some basic apps, Alex’s joy of coding will move us forward.

Jayson is an engineer and a medical doctor. He began travelling to Yellowknife 7 years ago for medical locums as an internal medicine specialist. He has started the iPad math program for the Collaboration Ghana-Quebec a vibrant elementary school in Kpemale, Ghana (Merci Nadine). He believes that math opens doors and that Khan Academy is the greatest learning program ever developed.
